The latest consumer price index data from the australian bureau of statistics showed prices increased by 1 per cent during the march quarter, leaving the annual inflation rate at 3.6 per cent. Automotive fuel prices were 7.6% lower compared to august 2023, down from an annual rise of 4.0% in july.
